    clean install of w7

Hi, atm I'm planning on building a htpc, and also looking at upgrading my laptop from vista.

As a student I can get a discount of windows 7, only on the upgrade addition for 1 system.

Do any of you have any input in how best to spend my money, as forking out for both will be a pretty big dent to my bank account.

If your a student, can't you get Win Server 2008 R2 for free? Then follow that guide to make it the same as Win7?

If your place of education supports e-academy (as mine does), you may be able to get Windows 7 for free.
