    Windows 7

    Hey there

im currently building a new computer, and im wondering since its going to be built from scratch

i could use an OEM 64 bit version rather than retail?, i dont intend to change any hardware, maybe add extra SSD's, graphics cards etc

will it be ok? heard something about the EULA, but if i *sell* it to my partner for a quid, will that break the loop hole?

From my basic understanding, replacing the motherboard may be tricky. But other components should be OK. See:

    (see future upgrades)

I'm afraid I do not know anything about the selling it idea.

    Re: Windows 7

I've used the oem win 7 and I only had to reactivate/register when I changed almost every component including motherboard.

the selling it thing wouldnt work but like others said you dont usually have trouble reactivating unless you change alot of things including motherboard, i recently changed everything other than HDD and had to reactivate it and i had lost my key so i had to rebuy W7 haha.

    Re: Windows 7

Even IF you did change the mobo, I've found a call to MS on the freephone number that appears on the screen explaining that the mobo died (which in my case it did) they usually allow you to reactivate.

To do this in order to move it to another PC tho is obviously a no no and breaks the EULA.
