    Distcc under linux

Trying to give an old celeron machine a boost by using my other 2 linux computers to help it compile. The other 2 comps (2 athlonXP's) both work together with distc fine. However whenever I try to compile anything on the celeron I always get errors. Normal permission denied in the /.distcc folder.

All machines have the same version of distcc/gcc etc. All set up the same too. What gives
