    windows 7 freeze Kernal-power

    Hey!

Been having quite a lot of issues with windows 7 64 bit freezing after replacing my xms3 ram with the corsair vengence ones (CMZ4GX3M2A1600C9 ). I haven't changed the setting in the bios to its rated but curretly its running at 1333mhz 9/9/9/24 timing @ 1.5, i've tried to set its rated timing of 1600mhz at the same timing but would result in windows freezing. I'm starting to get really woried because I have a lot of work to do and without this system I will be dead

The event viewer states that its a Kernal-power problem, and now i'm truly lost.

    sorry if i've sounded stupid.

    Any help appreciated !

Try running memtest for a while, see if it reports any errors. I'm assuming it will, in which case it sounds like faulty RAM which will need to be replaced.

    Thanks for the reply

Sorry I should of mentioned that I ran memtest for around 5 passes before I returned to windows, however I seem to fix the problem by going into the bios and loading default which seems to have done it, been on for 4 hours without a freeze, also been doing a lot of gaming and programming and haven't faced a problem. IMO I think the problem was to do with the ram timings.

Again thank you for your reply.

    Re: windows 7 freeze Kernal-power

I had this exact problem when i had forgot to plug in the motherboard atx 4pin power. The pc seemed to run fine until i did something that drew a bit more power like a game or hd video, then the pc would freeze or reboot.
