Hey guys,

I've been having a weird issue with my copy of Vista (Home 64-bit), maybe you'll be able to suggest something.

Ever since changing my graphics card (from a 9800GT to an HD6850), I've been unable to change my resolution to the native one for my monitor (1680 x 1050). It still shows up in the list of available resolutions, but when I change to it, all I get is a blank screen until it reverts to the previous settings. I can go all the way up to 1440 x 900 with no problem, but that's it. I know for sure that my monitor can display that resolution because it's the one I use for my XP install.

I accidentally set it to 1680 x 1050 permanently in Vista at one point, which meant I saw nothing at all after the Vista loading screen, but it was still working as I could still hear all the start-up noises. So I booted into safe mode, uninstalled all drivers, used Driver Sweeper, and reinstalled the latest Catalyst drivers after reboot, but I still have the same problem.

It's not a massively big deal, as I mainly use XP, but that's only because my Vista install has been plagued with issues ever since I got this PC. I'd like to have it fixed before giving the PC to my brother when I get a new one, so I finally have to sort all this rubbish out. I hope someone has some ideas, because I'm plum out.
