    Antivirus

So same as firewall question bellow, preference?

Personally I have used Microsoft Security Essentials and Antivir mostly, gave AVG a pop hated it, love antivir but the popups annoy me.

    So what is everyone using?

    Re: Antivirus

Currently i use norton internet security 2011. I like their product but I dont really like symantec.
next year ill probably get eset smart security. I have tryed their version 5 beta on a virtual machine and it seems really good. amazon currently offer eset smart security for £23 for 3 users.
i always look out for the best deals incase my customers need some security software.

    I'm another for MSE.

So, we all post on here which scanner we prefer and loose reasons like, no problems or it stays out of the way. Should we also have to post how many nasties it has actually SAVED us from?

    Mine would be
I've never had MSE protect me from anything, my Dad had it FAIL to protect him from a nasty fake AV.

    Re: Antivirus

Switched to MSE at home from Eset as it's very lightweight and has been effective at work at stopping viruses that McAfee failed to stop or locate.

    Re: Antivirus

I'm getting a tad cheesed off with MSE, and will prolly go back to AVG. I gave it several months and I've had it crash on 4 occasions, allow 2 viruses thru (when Sally was on the PC, I'd never have opened the attachments), and has made my boot time double. I also *feel* it doesn't like Chrome, but without anything positive to report.
    Cheers, David

    Re: Antivirus

I used AVG for years, but noticed an impact on performance with lower spec machines. So now i use avast 5.1. It updates daily, and sometimes more than once a day. It has a quiet mode if you are a gamer and dont want the antivirus interupting your game.
