Hi guys,
Was just wondering if anyone knew of a good piece of (free!) software to cut MP3s into smaller segments, i.e get rid of the silences before secret tracks etc.
Cheers,

there used to be a free download of cooledit, but it's since been swallowed by Adobe, so I dunno how crippled the demo is now..
search for a program called musicutter or musiccutter - one of them. its free and very good.
mp3DirectCut - http://www.rz.uni-frankfurt.de/~pesch/Quote:

Soundforge here :D
Came free with my Motif.
Audacity - easy to use and free :)
I use it for cutting up mp3's to use as ringtones on my mobile.
I would use one of these (in order of preference) -
Nero Wave Editor
Sonic Foundry Acid Pro
Steinberg Wavelab.
