    Audio / Video editing program

Can someone recommend me, preferably free, a program which I can edit the audio of video clips.

Ive taken some footage of 2 people having a conversation but 1 is really loud and the other is really quiet, so I need quieten the loud person down and bring the 2nd person up, its all on one audio track as well.

If it's a one off, I'd say download a trial version of Adobe Sound Booth - Or Adobe Audition 5.5?

I can only suggest these, as they are the only ones I've used!

Re: Audio / Video editing program

I think finding a good freebie all in one tool for this is going to be difficult, what I have done in the past is use a tool such as virtualdubmod to extract the audio track from the video and then manipulate the audio seperately using Cool Edit (when it was shareware) (old versions still available here), or maybe Audacity. Then when happy with the result stitch it back together with virtualdubmod.

It's not pretty, or straightforward in a single tool, but it is free .

Yep Yep, I used to in the past to do some ADR / Foley work.

Not sure about sound booth though, I launch it via premiere - which extracts the sound track and saves it standalone (linked back to the premiere project).
