    Question Text Capture/Screen OCR alternative

    Basically was using the trial of Screen OCR and it's ran out and i need something similar but all googling and trial and error just give me useless screenshot programs...
    what i want is to be able to rip info straight off any source like screen ocr did and put it into my spreadsheets... but i'm not too happy with ocr that i'd commit to it and buy it... maybe another trial of something similar?
    links please guys.

    cheers,
    keef

    Good riddance. Wish I'd done it about a year ago.

    Using alternativeto.net, JOCR looks like it does what you want?

    Tried this;

    If JCOR does not work, please manually install "Micorosoft Office Document Imaging" (MODI) that is included in the setup file of Microsoft Office. You can find MODI under "Office Tools" of the setup file.

    Hmm, can you print whatever it is to a document (rather than a printer) then copy/paste into the spreadsheet?

    EDIT: Two other trial (40 and 21 days respectively) versions of OCR > Text software

    http://www.structurise.com/kleptomania/index.shtml

    and

    http://www.capturetext.com/

    Both look quite dated though.

    nope only gives me option to save it as an .xps which only lets me view it:/

    oh and to edit capturetext and all the others only seem to offer screenshotting as ridiculous as it sounds.
