    Laptop Trackpad Absolute Positioning

    Hey guys,

I've just purchased an Asus UL50VA laptop (hotukdeals ) and I was wondering is there a way to get the touchpad to use absolute positioning, the same way in which a tablet works.
So for example if I touch the top left of the touchpad the mouse cursor will be at the top left of the screen, if I touch the bottom right the mouse cursor will be at the bottom right of the screen etc...

A quick google shows a couple linux threads about doing this but nothing for Windows that I can see. If not I might have a go at writing an app to do this but I thought I'd see what people knew about it first... thanks

    Re: Laptop Trackpad Absolute Positioning

Does the laptop have the real track pad drivers installed? Usually by Synaptics and often has a red swirl icon in the system tray, or a track pad icon that had green splodges when you use the pad.

this should let you set absolute positioning, the standard Windows mouse drivers that they use by default can't do this.

Mine uses the ELAN Smart-Pad. It has a Pen mode but it is virtually useless for drawing without an absolute positioning mode. So go for it. I know I would appreciate it.
