I would say any evidence would suggest the opposite

Many educated people aren't bothered about what browser they use as long as it works, and will use IE, doesn't mean they have a low IQ (stupid way of testing linking 2 loosely related areas of intelligence in IQ to IT knowledge), just that they aren't bothered

I use IE as my main browser, but has no impact on my intelligence..

My point was that IE is the most widely used browser in the world, and that the majority of people are not that intelligent, so if you really were to do such a test, you would end up with similar results, even though there is no direct link between browser use and intelligence.

So the stats may well turn out to be true - but they are completely meaningless!

Lots of large firms have projects that require IE6/7 to be installed, lots more don't offically allow personal web browsing.

As such people in these companies often have to endure IE from 5 years ago, I would also hazard a guess that these people are smarter on average than the general population of internet users.

The article had to be fake; IE is the only browser on that list that you won't find on a machine that was advertised and sold as malware-proof.

hm.....define a smart person....someone who knows how to spell and use proper english, does not mean they are smarter than someone who cannot. I've always wondered this! i consider myself average but not dumb just because i was not educated properly, granted my fault for being foolish at school but still, i'm a practical person, can do pretty much anything i attempt, and i would take a guess alot of other people can, something i have noted well on this forum is that someone with the lack of proper english/grammar, is branded as stupid....

Someone who is well educated and can spell....that does not make them intelligent, someone who knows crap about the world, or how to use a word.....NOT intelligent!

Now someone i class as intelligent is a scientist.

Not to sound like im directly having ago at you but it has been bugging me on this forum for awhile, so debate (yes i do believe this is still on topic, right??
