Airlines are the worst for this - easyjet and ryanair need a kicking. Hope the EU follow it up with banning completely mad credit / debit card fees that are WAY higher than the admin costs. Baggage fees seem well dodgy too.
Not sure how they'll police sites hosted abroad though?
Typically, it's not where sites are hosted that matters, it's where companies are based, and operate. EU companies can't avoid law by hosting sites outside the EU, because they are liable to comply, inside it. And companies based and operating outside the EU aren't subject to EU law anyway. If you buy something from a US or Hong Kong company, for instance, you'll inevitably find, buried in their T&C's, where legal jurisdiction is, and it'll be a specific state inside the US for US companies, and HK for HK.
