    Style XP - what do you think of it?

    i have just installed Style XP (yes behind the times am i) and it seems good fun, but how good is it? by this i mean how does it effect the computer resources? is it hungry on the memory? also has anyone had any major probs? i was downloading a 'theme' and all that 'gain' crap started installing, you know the stuff!! so just had to run adaware and clean my system.. looks fun but i only have 1800xp chip and 512 ram, so i don't wanna slow my system up anymore..

    Does anyone have any tweaks? do i need it to load in the system tray at start up once i have selected a theme?

    Thanks

    I used to have styleXP.

    However, now I use astonshell so my start bar and menu is different anyway. I use the silver XP style on windows.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Even easier would be to go with directhex's method or re-patching uxtheme to allow you to change themes from display properties. No resource usage and no cost (or end of trial if you didn't buy it)

    I used to run this, but as said before finding a decent theme proved almost impossible. In the end I just stuck with the boring win2k look.

    try looking at www.astonshell.com

    bit of a pain to set up and get how you like with a suitable theme but once done its marvellous.

    i found styleXP AFTER the manual hack

    was unable to understand why anyone would pay money to have a heavyweight app do something windows can do itself

    is there an easy way to mod that dll file? rather than doing all the console and reboot stuff?
