    Internet Explorer just CLOSES....

    at what I THOUGHT was random times....but I am now seeing pattern.

    Can you help?

    We have a server, acting as a Proxy Server, and we have 10 PC's, all on XP Pro.

    I have done a comparison of Internet Explorer Settings, in the Security tab, to try to suss out the dilema.

    Because 1 PC here will view all web pages, and never close...and yet this PC, will shut IE totally on www.multimap.co.uk I have done it 5 times.....the page loads, and as the gifs start loading, it shuts!

    and on www.vauxhall.co.uk when ordering a car and choosing the colour, it closes too.

    Any ideas ?

    I bet the proxy server is breaking the javascript or something along those lines. I've had that happen before, but never on the scale of closing IE!

    Firefox is miles better anyway...
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Hmmmm, I've always found Firefox far quicker. Then again they do seem to have managed to break a load of stuff in 0.9

    Could it be profile related?
    Tried logging in as a different user to see if the problem exists there too?

    it was a very odd one.... no error message , nice clean (ish) event viewer.

    checked IE settings ( tohugh I didn't reinstall IE, which was an option ) - reinstalled java & flash , yet www.multimap.co.uk woud close the window every time.

    complete spybot search & destroy scan was more or less clean

    msconfig showed a nice clean pair of heels.

    plan B seems to have worked , even if it was a bit of a bodge

    firer0x is way better. it has proper unbroken css. tabbed browsing saves LOADS of memory. the development plugin is great because it can validate css and html etc and...and..configurable..small... gah..

    but well done on forcing IE to work for another day. this is not a thread for showing the virtues of firer0x. but one by one all the people I know are getting converted.... by me !
