    Mindless Self Indulgence

    Thats right its a "take a butchers at what I made" thread.

    www.paulritchie.tk - hosted on my computing science uni account.

    Like quentin tarrantino I have nicked bits from here, there and made them my own. All with the appropriate permissions etc. Nicked some CSS from a template site, played with the colours, widths etc... Then migrated some bits and pieces to the new css. Et voila. More 'professional'.

    Go on guys. tell me where it sucks !

    Nice simple layout but the text in the title image looks badly resized, and yeah, find a different font

    It's got to be a font that's common to most systems, otherwise there is no point.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    btw there are no font tags in either the code or the css so it's down to whatever the browser defaults are.. (unless it's been changed)

    ya.. I scooted around in the code and noticed that. It is a case of adding a "p" tag to the css to affect all the fonts. So it isn't that much of a hassle. I have tried it on veranda, sans-serif and helvetica. But tbh my opinion of fonts has always been if you can read it.. Its Fine.

    If I get a few more updates added I will update it on the website. The hosting is a bit shoddy at the mo, so its a real fiddle to get things ftp'ed over.

    Any other suggestions ? I am workin on the banner.
    Cheers for the help so far

    Arial's the best one to use, and I could point you to a couple dozen web articles all enthusing about the legibility and all round wonderous nature of the font....but I can't be arsed

    Personal preference, I'd bold up your menu links, remove the underline, put in a css driven colour change on mouseover, and increase your table cell spacing to distribute them a little more evenly over the menu column (and remove the 'Menu' heading, since it's pretty obvious what it is). I'd left align them as well.

    Get rid of the red posted date. Stands out just too much. And having eight different colours on a website is just too much.

    Who put that pop up in there? Is that Hexus? Feeling the need to shoot someone....

    Apart from that, love the consistancy, simple design, logo, identity, and spacing.

    Hmm.. just to clarify for me. Did u see the new branded version. Which has just "killgORE" written along the top. Without the new york skyline behind it ?

    I was thinking about the 'menu' label, and it might not be necessary.

    But ya.. I will left align those links because now u mentioned it. It is annoying the hell out of me.

    Thanks d00d. Thats some good critisism.

    erm.. I prefer them centered now...

    Erm... one suggestion: lose the frameset. divs are easier to work with, for an example: counter-clockwise.co.uk apologies it's not anywhere near finished content wise. looks best in mozilla, would work properly in opera when I fix one line, IE's too ****. IE (and opera, but only by mistake) render a second CSS, which isnt as fancy, but you can still get the idea of the layout.

    *goes to work on site some more *

    lol.. Counterclockwis. I think that base css u used was from blueroot. I used that one before, without setting up that static background thingy. My website IS totally div. No frames in it at all. Was there a banner running along the top, in a frame.

    This is advertising added by .tk. I just turned it off, I have never seen it because I am using the browser which I lovingly refer to as "firer0x", and I have never seen this banner. I turned it off now. Tell me if that gets rid of it !
