Swapping Win 7 OS and installing Mac OS X Lion possible?

This might be a bit of a stranger question, but im trying to do the most with a very tight budget.

I need to speed up one computer in my house as it is for some reason dreadfully slow, and want to know if this solution will work. the PC i am trying to speed up in the joint home pc and not my personal one but it shall be used anyway.

    The home PC has
    Q6600, 2 GB Ram, and 300GB HDD. Win 7 32-bit

    My PC has
    i5 2500k, 4GB Ram, 1TB HDD. Win 7 64-bit

my solution is to buy extra ram for the home PC, but i know that i will then have to purchase a 64-bit version of windows, and that is quite expensive when compared to the Mac OS's. So i wanted to swap over my 64-bit OS to the home PC once the ram has been installed and then install OS X Lion onto my PC.

Now i have heard that in order to install the Mac OS, you must first already have an operating system to install it with, so to solve this as the 32-bit OS wouldn't work on my PC, i was going to install Linux on my PC then install the Lion and then remove the Linux later, and just have lion running on its own.

aside for building my own PC, i am a novice, and am prepared to do more reading into this, but its confused me a little so just wanted to know if this was a viable option first.

This is a bit of a grey area since the EULA for OSX forbids installing it on any non Apple kit. However the EULA has only been tested when a company, Pystar IIRC, who sold pre installed Hackintoshes. The question of whether Apple can restrict what you use OSX on is still open.
However if you search for Hackintosh, you should find some answers on all major search engines.

Just because you add 2Gb doesn't mean you have to go 64bit. You can stay on 32bit and accept that the OS will only see about 3.5Gb.

Why do you think the 32 bit OS would not work on your PC?

Does the activation code for an x86 version of Windows not work with an x64 version?

Hackintoshes are definitely a bit of a legal grey area- apple probably aren't too bothered about people converting pcs themselves but don't want it to be done by companies (Psystar) who they sued. basically you will be alright unless you do something really stupid like break it and then take it to the apple store to get it fixed- they probably won't take that too kindly!

Bit of a grey area. I would say not really. If this was the case, why does MS insist on putting "do not copy this disk" on all their media? Surely if they were fine with you downloading an ISO with it, they would be fine with you copying the media as well.

You can request new media from MS directly anyway. Personally I would rather do that than risk getting something that has been messed about with or infected with pretty much anything from a dodgy download site.

But MS themself provide links to the ISO's, lets face it. MS are not going to do anything if you are using home made discs with paid licences

Well everything is sorted now, i managed to reinstall win 7 with 64 bit, as i upgraded the PC to 6Gb, and ended up keeping my own version of windows instead of going down the whole hackintosh method.
