This might be a bit of a stranger question, but im trying to do the most with a very tight budget.
I need to speed up one computer in my house as it is for some reason dreadfully slow, and want to know if this solution will work. the PC i am trying to speed up in the joint home pc and not my personal one but it shall be used anyway.
The home PC has
Q6600, 2 GB Ram, and 300GB HDD. Win 7 32-bit
My PC has
i5 2500k, 4GB Ram, 1TB HDD. Win 7 64-bit
my solution is to buy extra ram for the home PC, but i know that i will then have to purchase a 64-bit version of windows, and that is quite expensive when compared to the Mac OS's. So i wanted to swap over my 64-bit OS to the home PC once the ram has been installed and then install OS X Lion onto my PC.
Now i have heard that in order to install the Mac OS, you must first already have an operating system to install it with, so to solve this as the 32-bit OS wouldn't work on my PC, i was going to install Linux on my PC then install the Lion and then remove the Linux later, and just have lion running on its own.
aside for building my own PC, i am a novice, and am prepared to do more reading into this, but its confused me a little so just wanted to know if this was a viable option first.
