According to wiki it appears that many of the components that were being developed as part of WinFS have been moved out to other projects, so we won't see a new file system per se but we will see some WinFS concepts being merged into Windows as file and data stores for some Windowds components / programs...
Its a shame MS didn't roll it into a new OS as they had planned to do

You know that FS stood for Future Storage, and not FileSystem, right? It wasn't a filesystem, but a layer that would sit atop NTFS.
