    Service Pack 4

I won't be able to do anything about this till I get home this evng, but AAAARRRRGGGHHHH I loaded SP4 last night for W2K and now I have a startup error. It almost loads completely ( I can see the desktop) but a CANNOT LOAD msg starts to appear and the screen breaks up with a scrambled BSOD and the pc hangs.
If I boot up to last known good configuration I am hoping this will let me carry on as normal - anybody got any other suggestions?

    Cheers

sounds like somethign caused it to reboot during the service pack install - a surefire way to kill a windows box.

If it hasn't logged in since the SP install, Last known Config may be able to help.

But I'd concur with the above - Seen a few crashed SP installs and they ain't pretty.

yeah. damn the service packs. i'd much rather be running an unprotected 4-year-old operating system from a company which is insecure at tyhe best of times.....
