    godaddy.com?

    just tranferred my .org to them as they do everything i need it to do just for the (very reasonable) domain registration price.

    I'll put in another vote for 123-reg for .co.'s and use Namecheap for .com's very simple to control.

    Re: domain name renewals

    I'm with plus.net, but they cannot convert me to fibre optic, nor is this likely in the foreseeable future.

    When I tentatively asked about moving www.petraceason.co.uk to Virgin, who have got a cable right outside, one metre up my wall, Virgin said I couldn't.

    No ifs, no buts, couldn't do it.

    Yes REALLY!!!

    I've just been on to the 123-reg website, and discovered different!

    Possible scenario, move to Virgin for the cable, but transfer my domains to 123-reg.

    Downsides are that I only Pay £1 per month per website with plus.net, {plus a free one,} and I've heard rumblings in the undergrowth including on Hexus Forums, about Virgin's after sales service. {And the denial that I could move my Web Domain Name to them indicates that their support staff misunderstood my request/do not know what they are talking about/couldn't be bothered to explain alternatives or work-arounds.}

    It is a conundrum, but I still have several months to run with plus.net, so time to scratch the little grey cells.

    {Aside, a smile, This built in Spell-Checker here has just challenged the spelling of Hexus! I presume that means it is located here on my Mac, not there on the Hexus Server. I've clued it up.}

    Thanks TheAnimus, and Sniper2020 for the Heads-up on 123-reg.

    Regards,

    Petra.

    Re: domain name renewals

    Back again,

    Although I'm mostly on my Mac, my website was written in WebPlus on my Wintel business machine, so hosting with Windows/Linux only servers is not a problem.

    Just in case any helpful soul was jumping in to point it out.

    Petra.

    Re: domain name renewals

    123-reg for me too, either for domain name parking or if you actually want to use it. Their dashboard gives pretty much full control over DNS entries if you want to redirect to your own web/mail/whatever... server, although they offer hosting and mail services themselves.

    Re: domain name renewals

    Hi,

    I use domainavenue.com - based in the US, but £40 for 2 years, free hosting, unlimited bandwidth, 5 email addresses and 30MB storage doesn't seem bad! As long as you have a relatively small . simple website, of course.
