Driver issues m8...you installed new usb drivers ?
wrong forum ;)
Plugged in new ISDN or ADSL modem?
Is it a USB device, maybe a iRiver MP3 player you are trying to use?
m@
I am using a USB modem, its the only USB device I use. Its a Fujitsu Modem. The Error, however, only happens when I pay Soldier of Fortune 2???
Unplug the modem when you are going to play it and see if it still happens.
ROFL I dont ever play it single player; however, I guess I should try 1 player and uplug modem to test it. I will let you know. Cheers.Quote:

Someone help me. I am screwd, Sof2 is crashing every 5 minutes, and I have a very important Clan War Tomorrow which I cannot afford to keep crashing on!!!!!! This is serious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Other times it just freezes, and locks up - and I have to press restart. Its only recently started doing this, and I have since installed no new hardware. What on earth is going on???? I'm in so much trouble!!!!
What PSU you got ? (you wouldnt belive how often this problem is caused by this).
Other than that, make sure ALL your drivers are upto date.
Have you always had this problem, or is it just recent ?
If its a new issue, try to think of anything you may have installed (namely drivers and important system software), or any alterations in your hardware config.
This problem has suddenly occured, and I have not made any major hardware/software/driver changes. However, I have no updated all my drivers, but still no luck. In reference to the PSU, I have a Shuttle SN41G2:)
Hi m8, say what OS are you using?
XP, sorry I forgot to mention that.
IRQL stop errors are generic, and usually untraceable. they can be triggered by power issues, overheating, or another driver - e.g. i've had them for pluging in headphones whilst my pc is on, or a buggy graphics driver causing errors reported in a disk controller driver.
there's no easy way to trace what causes them
Try a new firmware on the modem. Fuji devices have some problems, so do Eumex.
I will try what tillyoubreakit suggested, but in the mean time, what might you suggest to do directhex- since the bluesreen is not my only problem. The other problem are the random freezes in sof2.Quote:

I just ran 3dmark on loop, and I came back to the very same blue screen. This, rightly or wrongly, to me suggests that it is one of two problems:
1. A gfx issue
2. A heat issue.
These seem the most logical. I will post a log of MBM temps once I have done it when I come back from work tonight. Although I have had to select my mobo as FN45, even thoug it is actually FN41, because it is not on MBM's list for whatever reason. I am sure it is a similar board, and this shouldnt really make any difference.
Are you overclocking at all?
IRQ_N.L.O.E.T. is a common error when pushing too far.
Reduce your clock if it is and see if the blue screens keep ocurring.
I'm not OC'in at all. :)
I have been running 3DMark on Loop since lunchtime, and have now come home from work to another blue screen. This time, however, preceding the top line, is DRIVER_IRQ_LESS (etc)
And in addition at the bottom, the specifics are: usbport.sys.
This seems strange?
Also, I have now got MBM5, but I cannot seem to get the log to work. I have enabled Interval log which, as opposed to syslog, I am presuming is the correct one. I have set it to 100 entries, at an interval of 5 seconds a piece, to be saved as a text file - but the text file, when inspected, is completely blank?
Cheers.
Do you have any high speed USB devices?
If not, you could try setting it to USB1 in the BIOS rather than USB1&2 or USB2.
MBM5 should have a HIGH/LOW page - If you are using the PC at the time then it will show you the results.
Does it ever happen when not using graphic intensive apps? Just normal 2D programs?
It may be the GFX card increasing the case temp to an unaceptable level... Have you tried running it with the sides/top off. With additional fans poking in?
Just to see if it is heat or not...
This is what I am trying to work out. Which is why I need to gte the Log in MBM5 working; otherwsie, I cannot see the temps during, say, 3DMark. I only have a USB Modem that is plugged in. Sometimes, I plug my digital camera through the USB but this is always disconnected when not in use. I will try the chnage in the BIOS thought, thanks for that.Quote:

Back at my home PC now...
In the MBM5 High/Low page - Click on Settings.
There is an option to write the High/Low log at a selected interval there.
My interval log is not enabled but I have a readout of my stats for the last 6 months.
It's class to see new heatsinks, new CPU's, new PSU's, change of case cooling etc. :D
unplug the usb modem for a bit.
it's not a green alcatel speedtouch is it?
Thanks Guys.
Directhex: My modem is a Fujitsu FDX10
Captain Fizz: Thanks for that, I have set it up, and now it just awaits testing, cheers.
Ill keep ya posted.
OK, My temps are fine, reaching 53 degress before it crashes, but my idle temps arent far off that either.
I am very sure it is a driver problem now; for, in the latest blue screen, it told me to run driver verifier, and if that fails, try enabling special pool. It is there, therefore, in bacl and white, the the problem here is a driver issue.
And I need to work my way through this now..........
Any tips/help would be greatly appreciated.

I just ran verifier.exe, and the folowing list of unsigned drivers came up:
gwausb.sys - USB ADSL Driver
npdriver.sys - Norton Protection Driver
pxhelp20.sys - PX Engine Device Driver for Windows 2000?XP
symlcbrd.sys - <unknown)
???????
pxhelp20.sys = Prassi Primo DVD 2 driver
symlcbrd.sys = ?, possibly symantec related (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ may contain similar files)
I am now getting crashes in windows! But windows error reporting ses its a gfx driver problem, which also corresponds with the symptoms.
I got the following on a blue screen in addition:
A Device Driver attempting to corrupt the system has been caught. The faulty driver currently on the Kernel stack must be replaced with a working version.
What the hall do I do? I am on the latest drivers...... arghhhhhhhhhhhh!
Look at my thread in the help forum. I get exactly the same error message with my Speedtouch 330 USB modem, except the .sys file affected is 'afd.sys' which has somthing to do with windows sockets. It worked fine for ages then suddenly started going wrong.
It causes various dips in my connection with many different programs, but I only get the blue screen when using bittornado.
What happening to you is more or less an exact mirror, it only happens when i'm net connected, sometimes its a blue screen, sometimes it freezes, and if i disconnect, everything returns to normal, but mostly I have to restart, and it just started happening for no reason, no hardware or driver changes. I tried my modem in another machine and its fine, i'm now trying to get my hands on my mates USB modem and trying that in my machine.
Why, though, would windows error reports be saying I have a gfx prob? It gives me this, even though I do not receive one of the error messages they talk of:Quote:

It is crashing even when I am not connected to the internet also.
When you say, it is crashing even when I am not connected to the internet also, what does it do when it 'crashes'? Do you only get the blue screens when your connected? Maybe it isnt so similar, unless it has something to do with plug and play trying to turn off devices on your system to save power.
Its always blue screens. I have now uninstalled my display driver, so I am running gfx very simply without any drivers. If my gfx drivers were the prob, would my blue screens now cease; for I have removed them?
I ask this because, despite moving them, the blue screens continue. Shall I assume, therefore, that the crashing is not infact the gfx drivers, or can it still be, despite uninstalling them?
I've just started a new thread
http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.php?t=24631
because I am getting all kinds of problems with my system now.
Can anyone shed any light on my last post?
as i said, crashes can be "induced" in one driver by another.

OK, thats it then. Goodbye computing. I have an UNSOLVABLE SOFTWARE PROBLEM - a contradiction in terms? yes. But there seems to be no solution.
format & start agian? use a different os?
Do you use ZoneAlarm firewall?
true, that'd break it. horrible unstable rubbish...
I have no other programmaes installed. and hex, I have already rebuilt : /
sounds like a hardware problem to me, list your specs, voltages, and temps please. kontakt: overture3@hotmail.com MSN
there is always a solution, unless you "chip" a CPU ;-)
Had all this.... couple of threads here to related to BSOD/CTD IRQ NLOE etc...
Replaced my PSU.... much better... still the odd CTD... think thats memory.
Find yourself a nice PSU with strong rails... your right, the error messages do point at your GPU, your Memory, your OS.... just try swapping in a more powerful PSU if a friend has one.
Process of elimination sadly...
Bah. Just wrote out a post for this, only to realise the thread is nearly a year old :)
I'm just guessing here, I think IRQ's are a relatively old problem, but worth a try anyway...
Try checking your IRQs. Can be found in XP under Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Information.
Make sure there are no 'conflicts' (Either check 'Conflicts/Sharing' or 'IRQs') - If two devices have the same IRQ then 90% of the time its not a problem, but some select devices really don't like it.
My brother had the same problem after I installed a new PCI network adapter in his PC. The sound card and network adapter had the same IRQ.
Unfortunately unless you've got a fairly advanced BIOS and know your way round it well, then theres no way of changing IRQ's short of swapping things around inside your PC. With the problem I mentioned with my brother, I simply movied his network adapter to another PCI slot and the problem was solved.
Hope this helps someone :)
Russ.
LOL - Yup... I didn't recognise the thread title when I came in to my subscribed threads... :pQuote:
