    iOS app development with Windows

Considering this seems like a lucrative field, I was wondering if there are any ways of developing iOS apps using Windows?

    If so, any disadvantages?

I'm hesitant about forking up 1k for a MB...

You really need Xcode for iOS development, or at least to build the app. See if you can get a cheap Intel C2D mac mini on fleabay or something. That'll do the job.

Thank you! That should keep costs relatively low in that case...

It depends what your doing but based on my experiance with Xcode its slow to compile, so going for an ultra low end device might not be the greatest!

There are cross platform frameworks, such as unity or Novel's Mono implementation, which might be worth considering depending on the nature of your app.

    Hello,

I am developing for my iPhone and I am using an SDK that is a Windows based software in C#.NET. Maybe you will also find it useful. If you are interested in the sample I use Google on: "How to build an iPhone / iPad VoIP client - Ozeki"

It's not too difficult to get OSX running in a VM nowadays on Windows. Might at least get you started in the short term before you part with cash for a mac mini
