    Debian CD ROM

    Not really sure if this is in the right place but here goes anyway.

    Does anyone know of a website where I can buy a copy of Debian (downloaded, just paying for the price of the disk & postage)
    or would any Hexites lend a favour to someone with 56k and download a copy of Debain and post it to me (i'd pay postage, PM me if you would be kind enough )?
    Thanks

    I'm just gonna mess around with Linux, annoy my sister with it aswell (she is always claiming "Linux is krap, it never works and they get more viruses than Windows!"
    I'm out to prove her wrong really

    you'd want Sarge, ideally, which is getting released properly in just over a month

    i suggested just downloading the net installer tbh, as you wont get far installing woody in any form, and if you cant download 110mb of net installer your gona have to wait for packages along time ;x

    Sarge is the test version, Sid is the "unstable" version, if I remember rightly.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    the discs for debian contain packages, from most to least popular. cd1 will contain basic things like xfree86 that most people want, the last cd will contain rarely used things like umodpack.

    sarge is currently anticipated to be 14 cds, per platform (e.g. 14 for i386, 14 for itanium)

    you only need the first cd, infact you only NEED a 50mb net-install cd - the rest of the data is downloaded as & when it's needed
