Win 7 Install Problem - "A required CD/DVD drive device drivers is missing."

    Hey,

Im attempting to install Windows 7 from a USB. I booted from the USB, clicked "Install" and it comes up with an error message saying:
"A required CD/DVD drive device drivers is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD or USB flash drive, please insert it now..."

I dont have any CD/DVD drives on my PC so im a little confused as to why its even asking for this.

I read on another forum post (on toms hardware) that it might be a problem with the storage drivers, I have switched the mode from AHCI to IDE but I still have the same problem.

    Please help!

    Sam

Ok, Now I have also tried with windows XP. And got the error code:

    *** STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78d2524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

and a message asking me to check for viruses and to remove any new hard drives or hard drive controllers (the entire computer is new tho...)

Please, please help! This is driving me insane!

Had a quick Google and it does appear to be something to do with the drivers for the install on the stick, also could be that the iso on the stick is a bad copy that simply won't work.
Have you checked the boot order in the BIOS ?
Are you using an RC version or other oddity ?

Have a couple of other solutions.

Re: Win 7 Install Problem - "A required CD/DVD drive device drivers is missing."

    Hey, Thanks for the help.
Solution was to burn the ISO to a DVD disk, insert the 830 in to my laptop and use the DVD drive to boot and install windows 7 onto the 830. Then took the 830 out of the laptop and put it into my new PC.

Long way around, but its the only thing that worked...
