    Windows Update 5 broken?

This applies to anybody running a release candidate of Service Pack 2, which updates windows update to the new verison: 5.

I'm trying to run the "custom install" and all I get is the bar running across the screen for evermore.

Is it broken for anybody else? Is it just a high load on the windows update system? Is my computer busted?

    Cheers guys,
    Kez.

Sigh, well I'll grab the network distributable as it'll come in handy, and also I hope it might fix windows update... however unlikely that is.

Speaking of v4 & v5, is the v4 site dead now ?, as when ever i try to load it, i just get re-directed to the v5 site.. tried links of other sites, but no use.

    Exclamation

Arg... Nothing works. The v4 site seems to have vanished of the face of the earth as far as my computer is concerned...

THIS is the link to the site that i have always used. I've also tried over 20 links off other sites to v4 site, but every single one of them converts the page to the v5 site !!?? Baffeling... Tried switching off look for newer versions of stored pages, but didn't help.

I really liked the way the v4 site was set out, and it showed a percentage thingy when it was checking for updates, so u could see how it was progressing. Which was really usefull in determining if the check was just taking a long time or had actually hanged. The v5 site just has a little sliding green bar, so theres no way to tell if you are making any progress in the check, stupid if u ask me, and most annoying since the v5 site seems to have a real taste for freezing.

Try clicking the above link to the v4 site an post if it gets u to the v4 site, or takes you to the v5 site instead.

    Cheers, Dave.

v4 is for anyone using any versions before SP2 and v5 is for SP2 users so you won't be able to use V4 if you're on SP2.
