Chrome opens tabs in a new window without reason

As per title, Chrome has taken to closing tabs when left clicked in normal manner, and re-opening them in a new window. Not all the time.. just at random, mostly it happens immediately on trying to go to the tab I've newly opened. Can't find this in google thus far. I am definitely just clicking, not doing anything that could be taken as a tab detach movement.

    Anyone had similar? Thanks.

i have noticed that once chrome plays up it stays broken no matter what you try

Blast, ok. Thanks. Not the end of the world, just unsettling when working on emails/ebay listings, that sort of thing, as keep thinking your work is disappearing.

Try using the 'New Tab Redirect' app in the chrome web store. Obviously this is annoying, but it might be useful until your chrome decides to sort itself out!
