Wondering if anyone here has signed up to any of the courses on edX www.edx.org ?

The AI course looks really interesting, just started it myself. Also signed up for the SaaS course too, always good to learn some new stuff and sharpen your skill set

I looked at the AI one a year or 2 ago when it was on aiclass.com as well as the machine learning modules (did it at uni but I was off ill for a lot of it and didn't get as much out of it as I could)

It's good but very technical and IMO time consuming for an area I don't really work with, also be prepared that if you want to get anything out to do the homeworks/exam if they still offer it

    Re: edX

AI is a bit of a departure from my usual work too, but I thought it would be a interesting topic to try The first weeks work was a wake-up call of just how bad my maths skills have gotten, I haven't really done much in the way of REAL maths since I did my A levels about 10 years ago!

From the initial lectures it looks as thought one of the later projects is creating an AI that can play pac-man, which looks kinda fun

Pac man is tbh a terrible example as the AI behaves in a predefined manner so the system can be 'rigged' so to speak with knowing how the enemy will react

The course was vcery interesting from experience though however I found it to be incredibly theoretical but I couldn't devote enough time to the exercises at the time
