How to potentially get win 8 pro for only £25

Look lads. here is what u do to buy and use a upgraded version of pro:

    1. download the win 8 preview/demo

    2. install it.

    3. load up the upgrade assist and follow instructions on purchasing pro for £25

4.once purchase , download the upgraded files and dump them on a usb stick or whatever

5.install the badboy and it will activate instelf.

    DONE

Got this info from various sources who have tried this approach.

Some are getting it for like £15 via quidco etc

    edit:

There is one small catch and i will edit my post,

the catch is that if u have to upgrade your hdd or do a reformat and install, you need to do the whole steps again. the issue is this, win 8 preview will run out on feb 2013 so after that, if u want to install win 8 again, u got to get a legit key from a previous version of windows.

£15 if u have bought a win 7 machine/laptop recently. at the moment u can enter some random info and it will go through.

right now MS have cocked up on there side. now is the time to do the above as i am sure they will crack down on it soon. it may actually just be a ploy to get as many people onboard on win 8 t o help get a large audience using there new app store which i theory could bring them more revenue.

    Crack down?

It's the headline price on windows.com for everyone running any upgradeable version of Windows (XP, Vista, 7, 8 preview), until the end of January 2013

The £15 is for upgrade from a pre-built machine bought within the last month or two,IIRC.

It seems the £15 price is a glitch:

I am a bit worried though - what would happen if MS realised this??

Re: How to potentially get win 8 pro for only £25

I started trying to buy it online for my old MSI wind netbook this morning, but bailed out as I found the buying process horrible. The upgrade assistant thing insists on running, which is not the way I want to handle it. I just want to go to a pay here page, get a serial sent through and a way of downloading an ISO. Job done. Instead it wants to wizard me through the whole process and I gave up. i want to be in control, not some horrible wizard. Anyone know a way of avoiding their disgusting upgrade assistant and do this like a grown-up?

Are they possibly including Windows Media Centre for a short period as reported a while back?

The upgrade assistant will ultimately allow you to simply download the ISO so you can install Windows 8 Pro under your own steam. However, the ISO does seem to be specific to your machine - perhaps just 32 or 64 bit variants? I know this as the ISO I downloaded and installed on my main PC (i7, 16GB) would not work on my laptop (an old MacBook). I had to download the ISO the ISO again via the assistant - the upgrade then worked fine.

Re: How to potentially get win 8 pro for only £25

I went through a whole stack of install keys (legitimate keys I own) trying to get the £15 install and none were accepted. I also tried various googled product keys with made up data and they were rejected too. I wonder if they made it more restrictive or people are still getting it for that price? In the end I just ponied up the £25 and bought 2 - would be nice to buy a few more licenses for my other machines if I can get that price - £25 per copy is a bit galling however, for what are essentially seldom used VM's on my linux/osx platform

So, did anybody get the £15 offer to activate in the last week?
