Need to secure wipe a hdd...

I need to securely wipe a hdd before it goes to an ebay buyer. I have looked up some programs like this, but was wondering if you could tell me your favourites for the job?

I'm running W7 x64, but I don't suppose it really matters as most of these progs seem to run after the bios post without need of an os...

*I need something that can run off a little 16gb usb drive, not cd/dvd drive.
*It also needs to be something that doesn't need babysitting - Meaning I can just set it off before bed, and then come back in the morning and it'll all be done

    Any suggestions?

    Cheers.

This was something I've been thinking about as well, takes a bit long to remove all the star screws for take out and damage the platters...

Cheers all I used Dban last time I did this. I didn't realize you could run it from usb though. I'll give it a shot!

I use Hardwipe, it's free too and combines a drive sanitiser with a neat context menu delete option for files selected in Windows File Explorer.
