Free DVD Creation Software

Hey all,

I have some HD video and I would like to write it to a DVD so it can be watched on a DVD player connected to a TV. The DVD player in question can read DVD-RW discs (it says so on the front), I just need the software to write it in a way it can be played.

I don't need any fancy menus or anything, just put the disc in and play will do.

Oh, the last program I tried (can't remember what it was called) took the HD video and shrunk it to half the size and plastered a watermark across half the screen, so it was obviously just a free trial, if there's anything out there that can do this free (or very cheap) I would really appreciate it.

Windows Movie Maker. Actually very good for this kinda stuff since W7. Clean interface, native DVD burning and easy to use.

Built into Windows 7, although you might need to optionally install it.

It's awesome! I even made my own wedding DVD using it (On the downside, encoding takes ages as it's only single threaded, and the encoding quality is not great - quite blocky which doesn't look great on modern TVs).

Not tried for DVDs though
