Ok, I downloaded slackware 10.0, I stuck the first cd in.. It told me I needed to create a Linux partition! I have no idea how to do this? Is a Linux partition in ntfs? Fat32? Fat? Does it need to be a certin size? It said somthing about 1024... I have a 40 giger.....?

Aren't the mods marvellous! I believe, unless you do a clean install you may have to use something like partition magic. Although i feel that diercthex is about to correct me....

a linux partiton would be basically anything that ISN'T fat or ntfs - popular linux file systems include EXT2, EXT3, ReiserFS, XFS, JFS.

and menthel is correct, you either nuke everything or use a partition resize tool like partiton magic or qtparted.

some installers include partiton resizing, i think mandrake does for example.
slackware on the other hand... not a chance.

Well I instaled slackware... rebooted and it asked me for my password! But I forgot my password! ****! redo time! lol
