I'm aware that when you launch the RDP client, the remote target opens a session rather than running directly on the desktop like VNC, and that software runs through that session.
Question is, how long does that session last? I'm aware that any software opened under RDP continues to run, but is that ad infinitum, or does it have a time limit?
I ask because I'm aware that some software on my server hasn't been running for a while, then today I opened up the RDP client to check what was up with it, and as soon as I opened the window, that software suddenly started booting up. I have no idea why it did that, and it should have been running all the time, although I'm sure I opened it originally in an RDP client. Is it possible that the session expired after 30 days or something, and closed the software, only reopening it when I reopened the RDP connection?
