    exchange meail quota exceeded... question

    Hi,

just had a call from a client saying that he's recieved a message from the admin about his email quota being exceeded...

so obviously / simply i cna just tell him to either delete some emails or increase the quota right ?

there's no harm of increasing it too much ?

and there noone the data might be stored somewhere else twice causing such a fast increase ?

i've asked him to check sent and deleted items... but he was talking about another folder called 'hoard' ?? which i've never heard of....

NEVER give them more storage space.

Laziness on their part should not mean more work on yours.

Mail limits are set for a reason. Increase it for one user, they'll all want more. Then suddenly your exchange store hits 16gb, the system falls over and dies horribly.

Empty his sent and deleted items folder, archive old mail into a Pst.

    thanks very much yeah ...

found out its acutally hosted somewhere else and not exchange and they only get 6 megs each !

i've called the web hosting and it will cost £70 ish to increase etc etc so will give them that option... and see how it goes..

Or you have to lash out £3K on the Enterprise version of Exchange.
