    Windows 8 RSAT

Just a quick post which might help out anyone else who is in a similar spot to the one I found myself in last night. It would seem that in order to install Remote Server Administration Tools on Win8 you *must* have the en-us language pack installed. If you selected en-gb at installation time this means that you need to download the language pack ISO from Technet or similar (sadly you don't seem to be able to install it using the Languages option like you can with other language packs) and run

    dism /add-package /packagepath:d:\langpacks\en-us\lp.cab

once this is done reboot and then rerun the RSAT installer, then reboot again and all should work.

It's a nuts requirement, made even more so in that you can't just download the en-us langpack on it's own as far as I can see. Other than this I'm still loving the Win8 experience (Hyper-V on the desktop is awesome for homelab testing, especially as a lot of Microsoft's trials are now packaged as a VHD)

I had this problem and found the answer here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/...b-488ed7626350

Just including a link to that since it includes other useful information such as a name for the .ISO you need.
