Good Free video editing program?

I've searched around a few forums and seen Lightworks and VLMC come up a lot.

Not having much luck with either of these so just wondering if anyone can recommend some others?

It needs to be free and as feature packed as possible. I have the built in windows one for simple editing, but I'm looking for something a bit more powerful.

I can't buy anything for quite a while so it definitely needs to be properly free, and not a trial.

Blender? Primarily a 3d editor, it should be quite flexible for general video editing
