    Software supporting Intel Quick Sync

I do quite a bit of video encoding - quality is absolutely paramount. I've got some fairly bespoke setups across bits of software to encode things as I like.

I touched on GPU encoding a while back, but I never had the time to properly tweak it and get a workflow with other software that suited my needs at the time.

I'm now having a gander at QuickSync which looks nice. From my initial searches though the quality seems to be lower than that of 'normal' CPU based encoders when used, but with speed as a trade off.

Does anyone have an experience with it? If so, what software do you use? If you do anything involving video in a professional capacity - how do you use it?

    Cheers

edit - it would be nice, but not required, if I can call anything through the command line.

What graphics card to you have?? HandBrake already has experimental builds with OpenCL support, and it appears quality is not affected!!

A better question would be which one don't I have

My job involves dealing with a lot of modern hardware, so while the machine I'm currently on has a 260GTX, I have access up to a 680GTX. Almost all of our hardware is nVidia based though, very little AMD.

I've not looked into the OpenCL stuff yet. I've had to stick with CPU based encoding due to it working and not having the time to risk breaking anything currently. I'll defo have a look into that now though.

Oh, and has anyone every done any network based video encoding? Several rooms full of top end Xeons begging to be used

    Cheers
