    "That Hoax Virus" help needed..

Just got back to work after a nice six week break, due to me working in a school! and two staff members have had virus problems...

    One is a virus!

The other is that hoax email that tells you to delete the files 'JDBGMGR.EXE' that looks like a bear - which she did! so my question is! does this file need replacing and how do i do it if that is the case...

    thanks Jim

no, the little bear that gets deleted isn't really used anyway so don't worry about it.

with windows 2000/xp machine makes sure they have every single windows update in order to protect them from various worms (eg msblast and welchia)

and will all the pcs just make sure they've got up to date a/v software. (eg www.grisoft.com)

FYI, just on Microsoft Office (macro) viruses... there were FIVE security bulletins issued by Microsoft overnight, four of which related to Office apps (the other being a Windows NetBIOS patch).

    NetBIOS one:
    http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sec...n/MS03-034.asp

    Office ones:
    http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sec...n/MS03-035.asp

    http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sec...n/MS03-037.asp
    http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sec...n/MS03-038.asp

These patches are applied to Office 2000 SP3 or Office XP SP2 accordingly.

IIRC its the Debugger for MS J++

You wont need it unless you program in J++ really.
