    Power Toys / Tweak-UI

Back in the days of Windows 95, and later updated for XP there was a little suite of applets donated to the world free of charge by MIcrosoft. I have just finished a Haswell build and those annoying arrows are back on desktop shortcuts.
Tweak-UI got rid of them simply; I've used the applet on two other current desktops (1 Vista, the other Win 7x64), unadorned icons, but I must have deleted the applet: I can't find it on either system.
Anyone know of an update or replacement that gets rid of those pesky arrows?

    Re: Power Toys / Tweak-UI

There are a couple methods described in the linked thread. It leaves less software on your system.

If however you want an easier way, this is quite an elegant program which does what you requested.
