Just jumped over to Firefox, and I must say I am very happy. Skined, and extended n all So have you made the change?
PS, wonder if there will be a hack to get Windows Update working with it?

Not only have I moved over, but I am making a point of moving over friends and family (and anyone else who will listen).
Yep I swapped over a couple of weeks ago. Very impressed so far, no problems
I swapped over aaaaages ago. I'm surprised people are only just catching up
I'm embarrased I ever used IE
i believe there's an extension to give firefox the awesome power of activex, and all security considerations that go along with it. if you combine that with a spoofed user agent (to say that you're using ie, when probed), then it just might work. of course, you'll be vulnerable to activex exploits tooOriginally Posted by Flanderz
Been using firefox ever since the first available download

Firefox simply rules. Its the most IE like in terms of appearance/ease of use to all the other major browsers aswell imo.
Mozilla still,
Is firefox a 'stripped down and streamlined' version of mozilla, or is it going to supercede it? bit confused now.
They told me I was gullible ... and I believed them.
I moved over to Firefox about... four months ago now, i must say im very impressed I only use IE for Windows Update now, and if there is a badly coded website that wont work with Firefox.. *cough* Fasthosts control panel's... *cough*

sort of both.Originally Posted by stytagm
the "gecko" rendering engine, extension system, etc etc etc, are written using a custom programming language named XUL. firefox is a stripped down browser front-end to XUL, mozilla is a heavier equivalent. you may notice that the development process for mozilla apps these days is that an application starts off as an extension, then branches off into a standalone program (mozilla sunbird, for example)
when mozilla was coceived, it was meant to replace the full netscape communicator suite, the problem being that people don't WANT one huge app to do everything, they might only want a replacement. hence whilst mozilla originally did everything, they're now splitting it up into bits you can pick & choose - each one containing the same core elements of a XUL engine, with a GUI glued on top.
