yes - but remeber if they use offline folders , then PST files wont synch.

thanks.... so umm how would i do this exactly ?
all i can think of is to export the pst into my documents
then create a new account importing the saved pst ?
where do you think the PST is to start with ?
( running a search against hidden files and folder is probably a good idea here )
you can move it and get outlook to repoint to it.

i have mine sat up that way, it's helpful for backing up, but watch out i lost my conatcts, thinking the pst backed them up...
I think its the same in Outlook as it is in OE, but in the 'Options' under 'Maintenance' you can change the store folder. Then just copy all the old files to there.
if you copy the location of current store folder and paste it into the 'run' command its the easiest way of locating the PST files.
*make sure you backup all the files just in case (especially folders.pst as this is the master file and nothing will work without it) *

word of advice -
you've got a number of different ways to store contacts:
in outlook - you can still use a common wab (windows address book) to store all of your contacts - change this to use your contacts folder in your pst.
for version of outlook earlier than 2003 (so 97-2002) you've got a 2gb cap (or 1.87 actual) on the size of your pst file
default storage location for psts:
c:\documents and settings\<username>\local settings\application data\microsoft\outlook\personal folders.pst and backup.pst are the two file you need to backup
you should also export your rules - generally saved to same folder *.rwz and you can save encrypted account data (username/password, server names)
when you backup - you should be backing up most folders under c:\documents and settings\<username> - there are a few you can uncheck - cookies/history/local settings\temp/and a few others
if you only backup your my documents folder - you're asking for trouble.
this way you're also making sure you backup the store files for outlook express (also repeat the process for your account data in outlook express also)
