Best quick AVI editer?

I have recently burnt an instructional Yoga DVD to my computer, which I'd like to use on my downstairs TV. I ripped it as one file, an AVI. There is a long intro into the DVD, like 24 minutes, which I want to chop off so it starts right at the start of the routine. What is the easiest way to achieve this?
