Animation Tools / Android App Development

    Hi,

Had no luck posting over another forum so I will see if anyone has any idea here

I will be building an app (game!) which I intend to build with Java so I can chuck it onto the Android market for some money or ran on a computer for fun.

I am taking it from my hobby and trying to implement it but first I want to play around with animation.

So, can anyone suggest animation tools for this to happen, I want it to be 3D but ran as a 2D platform based game.

The tool I am looking for, for this design is CASCADEUR, however can't find it anywhere. So anything similar

The app will be very simple, no uber fancy graphics just simple. So somehow want to implement the animation into a Java ran app.

Any details of the game just ask.

    Thanks

Personally I use Unity for 3D Game development but what you have found looks good and I might try it out myself.

I think you should try Flash, in which you can create 2D objects but movement like 3D objects. You can find tutorials from Google.

    Simply, no.

You can't run Flash on Android now, and when you could, IIRC it was browser only so you would have to load a flash game in an html window which is just asking for trouble over a native app/game

I'd say Unity 3D as well, its got a good community and plenty of tutorials, plus it will run pretty much on anything, iOS, Andriod, Windows Phone, Windows.
