    WTF is a Net Password and WHY....

    ....would I want one?

    My home PC has this morning asked me three times, each time requiring a double click to shut it down....whethere I want a Net Password? I looks like Microsloth but cant be sure can I?

    Never done it before today......I recently upgraded my NTL account...is that it?

    Or have I been BREACHEd ?

    A .Net Passport is a M$ thing. Its used by some sites e.g. Tesco so you can login with this instead of making a new account..... Means that 1 account can be used on various sites.... ALso used in MSN Messenger

    There is a way to stop it..... TBH IIRC you click on it to start the sign up then just cancel it but I aint 100% sure.

    The usual roundup of initial XP instalation routine privacy essentials should make sure it never pops up in the first place.

    Running XP Corp, whether you have a licenced version or not;
    Turning of Windows update and IE update;
    Running XP antispy;
    Uninstalling MSN asap etc
    Switching to a better browser.
    Running Spybot S&D/Adaware...
