Recommend A Decent pdf Merging Tool Please!

As the title says, i'm looking for a decent tool to merge 30 or so pdf's into one big file. I tried pdf merge from sourceforge, but that only made a corrupt 2.5gb file.

I'd rather not use a java tool, as i fear that will choke with the volume.

The files i want to merge total 2.5gb on disk, so maybe i'd need a 64 bit tool too.

    Thanks for any suggestions!

Have used PDFTK successfully quite a lot at work, but never on huge numbers of PDFs. Portable version available here

    Trying it now, thanks.

edit; It seemed to work, but i still have the file corruption warning when trying to open the resulting 2.5gb file.

I think there might be something else going on here, need to do some research....

    Thanks chaps.

Re: Recommend A Decent pdf Merging Tool Please!

PDFs are limited to about 10GB iirc, do any of the source files give you the corruption warning?

I'd give GhostScript and ImageMagick a whirl as well

Re: Recommend A Decent pdf Merging Tool Please!

All of the source files are fine, no warnings when opening those.

I'll keep trying different things, maybe adding one file at a time, instead of trying to merge all of them in one go.

    Thanks.

    Divide and conquer!

Merge half and see if that works, if not merge a quarter....

Re: Recommend A Decent pdf Merging Tool Please!

I'm on it! No issues with merging all of them in 4 stages, so maybe i was lacking patience.

I used Pdfmerge, which has a nice feature that adds bookmarks based on file name into the merged pdf.

    Thanks for the assistance Hexites!
