    Best alternative to itunes?

    Now then.

I read somewhere about good (free) alternative software to itunes. Can't remember where I read it, or what it was called, bah. I'm not a fan of itunes, it hasn't even been installed on my computer for the last 6 months or so. So...what is there out there that can manage my ipod (it's an ipod classic 120gb, had it about 5 years) with all the music, photos, videos etc?

    Re: Best alternative to itunes?

For a while I used to use MediaMonkey.com to manage my music collection on iPod & other devices. These days I just use spotify so not really an issue but might be worth a look unless someone has something better.

    http://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/inde...e_to_ipod_sync

It does sync without iTunes but as they point out in the wiki you are better off leaving iTunes on the computer so you can deal with backup/restore/updates etc but only open it when you have to

I use Winamp with my iPod. Just drag and drop then hit sync. Works without a hitch.
