Finding duplicates

Over the years, I've taken great care in making sure that the personally important things (e.g. photos, amongst other things) are backed up in several places. That's great until I say I did so manually without synchronising application. Or sometime, I would receive a set of photos from friends during a trip, and the whole lot at the end of the trip (including the ones I've already got). Needless to say, it has become a mess. What I'd like, is a program able scan entire drives or selected directories/subdirectories for duplicates, highlights and display them in a clean easy to see fashion, so that I can clean up and re-do the whole thing properly. Can anyone suggest a good application for this? Thanks.

I have used one called, funnily enough, Duplicate File Finder. http://download.cnet.com/Duplicate-F...-10300084.html Free to use and does the job.

There should be a duplicate duplicate file finder finder - because the completely different one that I used to use is also called Duplicate File Finder

But I now use Directory Opus as my Explorer replacement, and that does a better job than any standalone app I've found at weeding out duplicates
