Windows 8 & LiveScribe Pen Compatibility

Howdy lords and ladies,
looking for a definitive answer to this and can't seem to find one.

I have an 8gb LiveScribe Echo which is useful for my job and studying. I am in the process of getting a new laptop and have heard some people complain about compatibility when transferring audio recordings and wondered if anyone can shed any light on this? As would prefer to stick to Win 7 if this was an issue. Can't seem to find a lot of help on the LS website either.
