    Automating Spybot

    Hi,

I put a thread on a few days ago and Paul Adams kindly displayed the command. I have found the path of where Spybot lives but even changing this it just says "path not found".
I found the path using the search feature on the Start Menu. It came up with 3:

    C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch
    C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch
    D:\Program files\Spybot-search & destroy

I have tried all 3 at the internal command line but none are found!

    Thanks for looking

    • Paul Adams's system
      • Motherboard:
      • Asus Maximus VIII
      • CPU:
      • Intel Core i7-6700K
      • Memory:
      • 16GB
      • Storage:
      • 2x250GB SSD / 500GB SSD / 2TB HDD
      • Graphics card(s):
      • nVidia GeForce GTX1080
      • Operating System:
      • Windows 10 x64 Pro
      • Monitor(s):
      • Philips 40" 4K
      • Internet:
      • 500Mbps fiber
    This should do you:

    Click Start / Control Panel
    Double-click Scheduled Tasks
Double-click Add Sheduled Task to start the wizard
    Click Next
    Click Browse
Browse to the "D:\Program files\Spybot-search & destroy" folder
Double-click on SpybotSD.exe (icon with a window & magnifying glass)
Name the task something appropriate - maybe "Spybot daily update and scan"
    Click Daily
    Click Next
Enter a time for the program to run, when your PC will be on
    Click Next
Enter your login details, confirming the password
    Click Next
Check the "Open advanced properties..." box and click Finish

Now you have the properties of your new task open (unless you entered invalid login credentials, at which point you get an error message).

In the "Run" box, at the very end (after the quote) add a space, then your switches, so it should look something like:
    Code:
    "D:\Program Files\Spybot-Search & Destroy\SpybotSD.exe" /autoupdate /autoimmunize /autocheck /autofix /autoclose
    Click OK

    Job (should be) done.
