    Firefox 'Document Contains No Data'

    People,
When using firefox and clicking on links I keep getting a dialog box appear saying "Document contains no data" with just an 'ok' button on it.

These appear with no rhyme or reason and does not happen all the time, does anyone know anything about this?

    Thanks for you help,
    Leon

No worries guys it seemed to be a cache problem, cleared that and it seems to work fine.

    Cheers,

Nope I read somewhere that it could be down to a corrupted theme, so I removed my themes. This still did not sort it out.

The search, for the answer to this problem, continues....

    Yes mate, broadband using wireless.

Have you figured out a way to stop it doing it?

I'm on dial up so I don't know if this would apply to you but what I tend to do is:
Refresh the page im looking at, then click the link.
If the above doesn't fix it I usually copy the URL of the current page. Close firefox then start it back up, paste the URL in and click the link I want and it works.

Sounds lengthy but thats the only way I found to fix it

I find this is a bit quicker:

In the address bar, type "about:config"

find the setting called "browser.xul.error_pages.enabled" and set it to true.

This will prevent the pop up box appearing and gives you a 'reload' option that you can click.

    Any use?

"Document Contains No Data" is commonly a CGI error at the web server side in IE, not sure why or how FF factors into the equation.

Might I recommend giving Opera a try? The latest version is really great and gives you the vast majority, if not more features available in FF without ever having to touch an "extension"

If you can bear the tiny little, very unobtrusive text ad it's free for download, but well worth the money if your so inclined for, in my opinion, an overall superior web browser.

(Not saying Firefox isn't great, but if you want the best of the best...)
