Win 8.1 update pulled after tablet BSODs

    http://nakedsecurity.sophos.com/2013...reen-of-death/

"Microsoft is investigating a situation affecting a limited number of users updating their Windows RT devices to Windows RT 8.1. As a result, we have temporarily removed the Windows RT 8.1 update from the Windows Store. We are working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and apologize for any inconvenience. We will provide updates as they become available."
    Cheers, David

Presumably your desktop isn't using Windows RT though - that's the version for Arm-based tablets. Presumably MS will be footing the bill for all the returns and repairs that'll be required for people whose tablets have been affected...

Re: Win 8.1 update pulled after tablet BSODs

That's too bad for the RT users.
It seems to many that the decision to run two operating systems on tablets was a bit odd, even though they were trying to hit a price point. Leads to confusion as one of the above comment shows.
