    AVI/MKV to MPEG2/DVD

    Hi

I would like to ask around if anybody here has a easier way of moving compressed video media files to plain DVD?

I tried a lot of freeware but none could really do what I was after.
My main aim would be to distribute digital recordings of various events trough DVDs (for family members who are stuck with a DVD player only).
Compiling a full 1-2.5h track of different sections is not difficult, but moving it to a DVD with little loss in quality as possible and to use the full capacity of a DVD+-R so far required a combination of various freeware (FreeStudio + DVD Shrink) and the results weren't always peachy.
Would be there a program what could do this in one and with little artefacts as possible? Wouldn't care about speed as much as long it would work nicely.
In the worst case scenario I would consider a paid software too, as long it would be worth it.

    Thanks!

    SUPER? :http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

Lots of options, but at the heart of it, converting from almost anything to a DVD is easy. It'll even make the VOB for easy burning, if that's your thing

Looks like it works just fine but I can't find a easy way to have the output file to fill the DVD exactly. Like working out the bitrate based on the length of the recording. Why there is not a button for the software to work out the ideal bitrate for that particular conversion (or it is just me who can't see it?)...

Try DVD Creator: http://www.appgeeker.com/convert/burn-avi-to-dvd.html. It is very easy to use.

There are straight forward button that tell you if you want to burn or other things.

No idea if there is one, never had a reason to use it, but working out the bitrate if you know the target size isn't difficult.
Online converters if you wish: http://www.dr-lex.be/info-stuff/videocalc.html

I've used DVD-Flick in the past myself, I'm not sure how it compares recently though, it doesn't look like it's been updated in a fair while. I've also just spotted a fork, DVD-Flick v2.
